Enjoy the rebroadcast of extraordinary national speakers, local workshops, food, music, art, and plenty of time for conversation and connection. We will spend three rejuvenating days exploring the ways environmental, economic, and social justice questions play themselves out in our community, homes, and personal lives.
Kickoff Live Keynote, November 4th: Charles Bowden and Molly Molloy...
Charles Bowden is a highly acclaimed journalist who has been reporting on Juarez Mexico for Fifteen years. He is the author of many books such as 'Murder City: Ciudad Juarez and the Global Economy's new Killing Fields.' Bowden has been examining and detailing the massive distintegration of the Mexican city through its social and economic breakdown. Charles will look at the role we play in the restoration and healing.
He will be joined by Archivist Molly Molloy who posts daily news on U.S.- Mexico border issues, with a special focus on Ciudad Juarez. Molly Molloy, Border & Latin American Specialist at the New Mexico State University Library in Las Cruces, New Mexico, manages the list and keeps a tally of violenhttp://ecopalooza.net/events/edit.php?action=link&field=id&condition=equals&fieldvalue=484t deaths in Juarez.
