Will you join or organize a local event on June 26th? www.350.org/hands

On Saturday June 26th, people from across the US will gather at 'Hands Across the Sand' events along our coasts, waterfronts, and in symbolic locations within land-locked towns.

We'll stand together and show our leaders that we stand united in stopping offshore drilling, and are ready for clean energy.

Interested? Sign up at the website, linked above, and we'll let you know more about events like this in the future. Also see website for a map of local events. For general info, see action website: www.handsacrossthesand.com/

Hands Across the Sand has really picked up steam over the last few weeks: there are hundreds of events registered in the US, and more popping up from New Zealand to the Dominican Republic. This kind of energy behind a day of action hasn't been as strong since Oct 24th, when 350.org coordinated what CNN called 'the most widespread day of action in political history.' Many of our friends and allies are getting behind what's shaping up to be the biggest day of action against offshore drilling, but we can't make this big enough without your help.

Join Hands Across the Sand next weekend: http://350.org/hands

Hands Across the Sand got its start as a grassroots campaign in Florida - with ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Now they've put out the call throughout the US and even the world - to pull together people on June 26th. These events don't take much planning - after all, you're just asking people to join you for an hour or so at the beach. We now have an opportunity to show President Obama and our Members of Congress where we stand.

    See you on the beach!

350.org is an international movement to stop the climate crisis. The best way to take part is by organizing in your community. More info at: www.350.org

This October, we're going to follow up on Hands Across the Sand with an even stronger call for clean energy. Join us on 10/10/10 for a Global Work Party, and let's get to work getting off of oil.
