"The Water Use - Land Use Connection"

The 15th Water Conservation Conference by the Xeriscape Council of New Mexico is currently open for registration.
This annual event now attracts over 400 mostly professionals from about 25 states and has become regularly oversubscribed.
The 2010 Conference will focus on Land Use – Water Use Connections, from the urban core/surburban with New Urbanist Doug Farr and UCLA’s Environmental Health Professor Dr Richard Jackson to the rural/natural.
Three of this country’s most renowned water experts Peter Gleick, Sandra Postel (Post Carbon Fellow) and Robert Glennon will also participate. Dr Isobel Heathcote, Environmental Scientist and Environmental Engineer from the University of Guelph – Toronto, will address watershed management.
The agenda will be completed by 8/15 and posted on the website (liked above).
Please consider early registration since this event has been oversubscribed the past 2 years.
Registration for 2010 will remain at $200 for the 2-day conference. This is possible because of major sponsorships by the Bureau of Reclamation and Intel.

The Xeriscape Council of New Mexico was formed in 1986/87 after green-industry professionals interested in the use of native plants in conservation attended a Xeriscape Conference in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The Xeriscape Council of New Mexico, Inc.is a non-profit tax-exempt corporation. Our primary goal is to offer education and training about water conservation, primarily through efficient irrigation of xeriscaping utilizing native and other low-water plants.
